Na, I hear ya man. Good advise except, how would he know how to set the aftermarket FPR and know what it should be set at? h:

If there's no need for one, I think it'd be more of a hassle than it's worth. If you don't want another used one, get a new stock one.

If RedCivic has a used one, pick it up from him. You can also try www.sohfast.com for used parts and www.hparts.com or www.hondaautomotoiveparts.com for new parts.
