Yeap agreed; the roots-style blowers become rather inefficient at higher psi levels, which is why I think he'll be better off with a turbo of some sort.

There are some pretty pricey custom cooling kits out there, but nothing really in production. You could try water injection and run a small shot of the funny juice to cool the intake charge.
