my old volvo is now driven by my mom has almost no problems other than broken engine mount every once in a while. Accord also has that problem, I I had the front engine mount replaced twice already on my wife's accord. I am still getting stuck with the idea of distributer and rotor cap... I never had to replace those components on my old bmw, audi and volvo; I didn't even remember replacing spark plugs. Those cars are running smoother even with out those services. Something interesting is that I used to get about 22mpg, I then recently learned that you need to clean fuel injector; after cleaning the injector, the car gave me 24mpg. I actually was freaking out when I first drove the accord w/ 22mpg. My previous A4 1.8T has much higher output and has all wheel drive gave me around 22~23.

After that I have a bad driver side window switch; then my driver side window was broken and would fall down, I had to tape it to go to the mechanic. later on, my airbag controller unit broke and costed me around $600; then the higher than expected maintanence cost...

I grew up with European cars around... I was told the legendary performance, reliability and low cost for operation of Japanese cars. The Accord was a forced on since that's the car my wife drives when we got married. I have nothing but trouble and I am just very discouraged. I keep on questioning myself why would people buy a car like this if it is how it drives when it was new; I was also told by local mechanic that the car is in excellent condition considering its age. I tried to sell the car, but the price offered was extremely low (lower than 1 month salary)...

I am pissed, but I want to make a sound decision. My wife keeps on apologising for the car for causing me trouble after trouble; the car is not worth $, it runs but it is extremely unsmooth (engine, power delivery, transmission) and is not very reliable. Don't want to keep it, but no sense throwing it away...

Bottom line is that I am just venting and feel bad cause my experience if completely different from what everybody else experiences. I am still a little curious about people claiming their car running like brand new after tens of thousands of miles though... Maybe my dumb luck doesn't permit me from having a car like that...
