cant lose with alpine or pioneer. which model will depend on how far you will go with your system and your budget. swapping out the HU will require you to take the front middle part of your car apart. its only removing screws and clips.

- remove the cap under the e-brake. remove the 2 screws.
-remove one screw from each rear corner of the lower console and remove
-remove the ashtray and 2 screws from the rear of that area
-unsnap the housing and unplug the connectors and remove the housing, remove the shifter and unsnap the trim piece
-remove screw from each rear corner of the upper console and 2 screws from below the radio opening
-remove the console bezel
-remove the screws holding the radio

I'm also planning to take the front speakers out. Is it hard to do it myself? Any instruction? Which brand is good? I saw some infinity 61/2 one on ebay. Those any good? Any recommend? Oh, do I need that crossover unit(see...I'm very new)?

front speakers are easy. pry the panel off. remove 4 screws that hold the speaker onto the basket.

brands will depend on the budget and if you are going to use an external amp or the amp from the HU. you need a crossover if you are using a component set, which will be included in the set.

I don't think I will put the sub in coz I'm not a heavy bass listener. If that's the case, will the component speakers take care that range?

everyone who loves music needs bass. you may not need a pair of 12s with 500watts to each. but componenet speakers will not take care of that freq. a small 10" should be enough.

Do I need amp for the front component speakers then? Which brand? How do I wire them? Instruction will appreciate.

you dont NEED an external amp. but one would make it sound so much better IMO. again, brand will depend on your budget. wiring an amp is a whole new thread. h:

Is it necessary to re-wire between the head unit and speakers? Or stock wiring is good enough? What's your recommendation?

stock wiring is very thin. if you are going to use an external amp, i would rewire them. if its just an aftermarket HU and speakers, i wouldnt bother with the rewiring.
