man, thats exactly what I was about to tell you, I noticed that the 2001 and 2002 LX have painted skirts from factory! so yes I saw one and it looked ver clean (like EX) so thats what I have also planned on doing but just havent got the time yet, but I will. Btw, do you know of a write up on that somewhere? I dont know how much and what kind of paint and where to get it from.

well, actually, on the 01-02 LX:
The side molding (on the doors) is paint-matched
The side skirt (below the door) is black plastic.
On the 01-02 EX, the side skirt is paint matched too.
Anyways, I got a prive quote from
http://www.ahmotor.com for paint matched side skirts for $170. It seems steep, but
dreman who's got a 01 LX, was quoted more than that just to get the side skirts painted professionally. IMO, you would probably be better off buying the OEM paint-matched side skirts, since the paint will be better, and will match you silver car perfectly. I don't think painting the black plastic would be a good idea, unless you get it done professionally:
