a few months ago i stripped out a bolt that hold my valve cover on, and i just used some of that "make your own gasket" stuff to hold it in place. the bolt has a gasket and stuff on it, and it hasn't leaked any oil since i fixed it a few months ago. just put some of that stuff in the hole, put your parts together, then let it dry. as long as there's not too much force pulling the screw out, it'll be fine.
