Here is a quickie list I stole off of "automotiveforums.com

D15B - 1.5L SOHC 6th gen Civic hatches and LX
D15B7 - 16 valve 5th Gen Dx engine
D15B8 - 8 valve 5th gen Cx engine.
D15Z- 1.5L SOHC VTEC-E 6th gen Civic HX
D16Z6- 1.6L SOHC VTEC 92-95 Civic EX, 93-97 del Sol Si, 92-95 Civic Si
D16Y8- 1.6L SOHC VTEC 96-00 Civic EX,
D16Y7- 1.6L non-VTEC 96-00 Civic DX

so an EX is vtec, a DX is non vtec, and the CX is also non-vtec, I think, from this list, not so sure about the CX.

The B16 is a very nicely engineered motor, but i've heard the odd person here and there complain about torque envy.

It's fast in a CRX though. heheeh.

If you want to look at a hatchback, they're lighter, so you'll get more out of the same size motor.

I think slapping a vtec head on a non-vtec swap is called a "mini-me" swap.

Please correct me if I'm wrong on any of this guys, thanks.
