New to Honda
I just purchased my first Honda, a 2002 Accord EX, 5-spd, sedan. I came from the Ford camp, my last car being a '95 Probe SE 5-spd. The Probe was great when I first got out of college, now I need something that has four doors and a real backseat. Anyway, chose the Accord because of it's double-wishbone suspension, VTEC engine, and it was one of the few cars in its class that I could get a manual with. After driving this car for only a few months, I'm a believer. Believe it or not, despite the firmer suspension and 60-series tires on the Probe, this car outperforms it and in bone-stock form in nearly every aspect (IMHO, no flames please). At this point, I can honestly say that I don't believe I will ever purchase another Ford product.
Anyway, let's get to the reason for my posting: I've only just begun planning my mods. I noticed that the top speed is governed just over 100mph, probably due to the lack of speed-rated tires. Obviously, I've got plenty of tach left at 105, is there any easy way to kill the fuel cutoff short of replacing the ECU? Anyone tried swapping chips with an ECU out of a coupe (I assume they have real, speed-rated tires and therefore a higher top speed allowance)? Any input would be appreciated.
