What do you mean by second cam? Both of your cams are working all the time. One cam is exhaust and one is intake. It sound like you got lucky when you went from 5th to second. If everything is still fine in low rpm's then your engine seems to not haveany bad damage. But the different sound in vtec rpm's is con fusing. The sound of vtec is the engine being able to breathe more. So is the different sound a louder sound? You could have a valve problem, if this is so dont drive it anymore. You shoud have a mechanic take the top end apart and make sure everything is still ok or it could end up costing you alot later on.
