Just purchased a '96 2.5 TL (base, not premium) with factory am/fm casette and single CD in dash player. When I insert a CD, I get a readout on the screen of "CD PE0".
According to the owners manual (p.96) it says the cause is either:
1-/focus/CLV error
2-data read error
3-search error

I'm being told that the unit likely needs a major cleaning. Is that a good guess, or have others here experienced this problem and are familiar with a different solution?

I'm also being told I need to remove the unit from the car to do the cleaning, so how does one remove the unit from the dash? Is there a picture tutorial someone can provide a link to?
