The problem does not lie with the US. Sure we have our shortcomings, most inherited from a Democratic President with the most Laisez-fair (sp) attitude ever. But no matter which way you slice it the US is still the best country in the world.
When you have countries like Afghanistan and Iraq, which we have done something about, and then Iran, North Korea, Syria, Lebanon, etc. that support terrorism against the US what do you propose we do. Terrorism has been around for a long time...these countries are known supporters, and even if they come up with the weapons and give them to terrorists it is difficult to prove they have done so. It gives these countries maximum deniability and allows them to share in the benefits. The only thing that is going to make these countries change is force...or if they know force could be used against them. To argue that the US does not strike first and therefore should not have been done is a horseshit argument.
Should we wait for more terrorist attacks and let more American civilians die before we go and attack another country?
What would have been said had Bush not invaded Iraq and a year or so later one of their WMD was proven to have been used to kill thousands of American's in New York, Boston, or LA?
Wouldn't your 20/20 hind sight have said he should have invaded Iraq to the above question?
Do we need more attacks to come at the expense of innocent American lives before our President is justified to attack another ass backwards country hell bent on destroying America...whom they refer to as "The Great Satan"? It is the job of the American President to make sure that the citizens of the United States are not placed in any danger...now or in the future. If the United Nations, other allies who want what we have on the world stage [cough]FRANCE[/cough], or the Pope disagree with the President protecting his people...so be it. In the end we are only doing them a favor anyway.
The way I see it is that terrorists, Muslim, Arab, or whatever radicals are hell bent on attacking the US...and if we do nothing we are only accepting the inevitable. And once they do attack we are only going to attack them back...so we might as well get them before they get us. Clinton already tried ignoring them...how many terrorist attacks did he let slide with the lobbing of a couple of cruise missles? That only escalated in 9/11. Terrorists are uncivilized savages and we should not rest until they are wiped from the face of the earth.
