B16a is USDM, if you mean the B16 Second Generation SiR, (170 hp) then yes, that is better, it's about $2650 shipped. Really good deal i'd say.

I would say b18b because they are cheaper than b16a`s but it all depends on what kind of prices you can get on them. Either motor is good but IMO I think the b16a is a little on the weak side as far as torque.

i would go with the LS motor,...cheaper,...boost friendly,..and if you really wanted vtec,..swap the heads,..a stock LS/vtec Vs. a stock b16,...the LS/vtec would stomp the b16,..atleast my ls/vtec did

JDM, Inc is a great company, but you need to purchase axels and linkage with that... which i believe they offer for 150, plus 95 shipping...

Hmotorsonline is where its at.... they may be like 100-150 more expensive once you factor shipping and all, but they're cleaner and more reliable... and come with axels and linkage in the pricing...

b16a all the way... vtec baby

The B16A is JDM, both the first and second generation JDM B16A engines where stamped B16A. The USDM engines have an additional number, such as the B16A2 and B16A3.

I would take a B18B over a B16A any day of the week. VTEC isn't everything, torque is. I'd happily take the extra 239cc of the B18B over the B16A.

b16a seems great but i hear it has no torque. VTEC is nice and i hear 92-95 hatchs are pre-wired for it, so its basically plug and play, is this true, and would you recommend paying the extra 1000 for the gsr motor, which is more powerful than both b18b and b16??

a b16 should put you in 15s easy. I think that should be plenty fast. For me, anyways...
