I can't totally verify 3rd gear because I'm NA, and I run out of track first, and still have 2800rpms left of it. I hit 3rd at the 1000' mark. If I could get a turbo kit that would spool to full boost at 2800 rpms, this setup would be crazy sick. Probably wouldn't last very long, though.

Yep i tested my HX today and it seems to be the exact same gearing as what you listed. 1st goes a tad over 40, 2nd about 75, and i took 3rd to about 115. This means i can run the 1/4 mile in 3 gears, and my gas mileage will go up. 1/8 mile times might suck though.
Oh well i didn't have much of a choice and you can't beat 100 bucks for a tranny you pickup the same day you need it. I just buy them as i break them...or actually as my friends break them when they drive my car. I learned my lesson, no more letting anyone under the age of 40 drive my car.

WTF 126? I know for sure all the OBD2 cars are governed to like 120-122 mph ish. My 3rd only goes to 115 and the HX and DX are supposed to use the same tranny, mine is a 97 as well.

haha yeah i'm 20, and i'm only gonna let my parents drive it. Old people don't beat on cars
Fastest I've gotten in my DX is 106 stock. I doubt it can even make it up there without boosting and such. I mentioned the VTEC head for more expansion to cams, intake manifolds, throttle bodies, etc...etc...etc...stock DX head, there's not too many options for upgrades. Not that I know of, searched, or was told on this forum.
PS: I get 32-33mpg in the city with the AC on and while burning 87 octane. I'm not light on the gas pedal, either. I spend a lot of time on the WOT fuel map. I haven't yet taken this thing out of town since I put it back together, but I'm expecting to get in excess of 43mpg out of it since the highway's speed limit is under 2k rpms. It's crazy, who knows. I'm probably taking it to the beach next weekend, so we'll see.
I can't post whether or not it's any better or worse than what the CX engine would do with it because the cx engine I replaced was worn out really bad. I get about 5mpg more than I used to, and my car is much faster (2 seconds in the 1/4). Most of that, I'd attribute to having a 0-mile engine with 8 extra valves vs. the 100k old oil-burning no-compression-having D15B8 that was in it. It's only been swapped like this for about 1500 miles, though. Barely broken in.
The torque curve is so different that (you're right) it is really wierd. A CX makes all it's power down low, a DX makes it up high. I'm sure the hx/dx tranny deal is the same on your car. Slightly over-do it and you'll blow the tires off. Barely under-rev it, and you bog. It can be a dog off the line unless you feather the clutch just right, and it's really touchy. 3rd always bogs because the torque curve of a D15B7 begins higher than the revs where you shift into it. suxors. 1&2 are evil, though. :rick:
And I'm 31... I beat the hell out of cars. Worse now than when I was 20. :driving:

haha they are actually different friends each time, my tranny this time was starting to grind 3rd and 5th and the synchros were going bad so i was gonna replace it anyways. His dad is actually a certified honda tech at a local dealership here so they installed it for me and we called it even. I got the tranny for 100 bux from a friend, no biggie.
