Default Turbo sol!

Well, after months of getting parts, setbacks, etc, I have my turbo sol on the road. I took it down the frontage road tonight (no further cause the headlights are aimed to shit) and hit 4lbs of boost because the exhaust manifold was missing a few bolts. They were lost while working on it, and I've been to hurried working on other things to find them. So, with a healthy exhaust leak, making 4lbs isn't bad. IT HAULS ASS!!! Much tweaking to do still, but it'll be going to the track on the 11th for some times. Just can't stop shaking after that fun run. More to come soon!

Oh, forgot to mention, this is in a sol lightened down to about 1900lbs. It's pretty extreme. NOTHING in it. The dash is the SKIN from a dash I got from Soltaker. No heater core, doors replaced with sheet metal, etc etc.

How much does forced induction change your gas milage? Would it cause the car to prematurely break down? Would the car's rings wear out really fast?

Got it weighed at a landfill near my buddy's house in Zimmerman. It was free, so we did it. But we haven't weighed it since bolting on the turbo, and getting the truck lid back on. I should ahve new numbers on friday.

About mileage, it's all how you're tuned. Just freeway shouldn't be affected unless you're throwin down a lot.

I was thinking of a little forced induction if it doesn't affect gas milage and engine wear too much.

I WILL have pictures up soon. But had to let you guys know, the car can WALK away from my friend's 98 GSR, another friends 94 Prelude with a jdm H22 (200hp plus bolt ons, but still a heavier car), and this is with a clutch that CAN'T hold once I shift into 2nd. Damn, I love this ghetto project!

Hoping for 13's at the track with the slipping clutch. Don't think I can get a new one in there before the last import day of the year at the local track. Damn winter...

I knew there was one down there, but never knew where, the name, or anything else about it....
