Default RPMS going too low

well today as i was drivig to skool i stoped at a red light and had my system hitting hard and when the light turn green i stuck it and first and wanted to take off but nothing my car died while i was stopped then i started right up with no troble at all but when i let off the gas the rpms whent down all the way to about 200-300 rpm's and can you imagin how bad they shake when they are idleing that low?
well then it went up to 500 rpms and still wont go up i had to turn my AC on and my headlights so my rpms would go up and wont stall again well im kinda woried since it was usually at 700-800 rpms. any one know whats foing on well i got my exaust yesturday and it worked good all the day, do u think i need to reset my ecu? im going to try it after i get out of this class, well i got a 96 del sol S and my lil engine ONLY has 147K on it.

Being a 96, that damn obd2 could be trying to make up for the loss of back pressure, and it's freaking out. reset it. If that doesn't help, then you'll want to start checking other things, like your alternator, eacv, etc.

My 94 only has half that! You do some heavy duty driving. Also check for vacuum leaks. If a hose slips off a little bit, it can cause this. Volvos have tons of these types of problems, and having owned two, I love to recommend checking for vacuum leaks.
