Not really, some people praise sohc engines because they're lighter than dohc and theres less moving parts.

im just saying, so many people dont really look at how great the turbo sohc option is, and go for the tq less b16a's :P

That's because it's just more practical just to swap in another motor instead of doing all this calcuation and lowering the compression ratio on the engine and lots of more other work. Plus custom turboed engines aren't as reliable as stock na engines and some people aren't willing to take that risk.
