Default civic custom turbo kit

I am attempting to boost my 98 civic lx. I have been trying to create a custom turbo kit because im on a tight budget. Im not sure exactly what all i will need and what will work with my car so if anyone knows please help me. I got a side mount intercooler from a turbo eclipse but no turbo yet. Please let me know any tips or suggestions u have?

there's been a few threads about turbo-ing or getting alot of power out of the d16y7.

pop a search and see what it comes up with

Also, if you can collect the last three or four issues of Honda Tuning they are doing a project car w/ a custom 'budget' turbo. But, a budget for most people isnt the budget of a national publication.

look at me, I'm God :db:

here ya go: https://www.honda-acura.net/forums/s...der=descending

there's a few threads, but mainly these:
https://www.honda-acura.net/forums/s...ht=d16y7+power

https://www.honda-acura.net/forums/s...ht=d16y7+power

https://www.honda-acura.net/forums/s...ht=d16y7+turbo

https://www.honda-acura.net/forums/s...ht=d16y7+turbo

some things to note:

- there's a trick with the d16s that you can slip specially modified supra pisons into them, to hold high levels of boost with proper tuning/fuel upgrades. Here's a link: http://www.honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=267641

- the y7 IM sucks. Upgrade to a skunk2 manifold.

- no vtec means no Hondata, means less $$$ for fuel management.

visit homemadeturbo, it'll learn you alot, and dont think about boosting more than 8 with stock injectors, if youre trying to save money you can build your own kit or if you wanna spend a little more but go through less hassle buy a kit from one of the forums on HMT.
