Whats the best manual to get?
i hear things about haynes... and helms...

helms > haynes.. haynes is cheaper though.. i have a haynes..

It just depends on what type of work you plan on doing to your car. If you plan on doing lots of mod's to your car yourself you might just invest in a manual from the dealership. If not and you plan on doing minimal and mod's that aren't as detailed (ie. springs/shock work ect..) then either the Helms or Haynes will work.:thumbup:

i plan on doing alot...

from a swap.. to bolt ons.. to rear disc brake conversions.. to swapping trannies.. to turbo work (maybe).. to suspension work

what is recommended?

I have both the service manual and the haynes manual. Used to have the chilton, but can't find it. Think my roomate stole it or someting.

The Service manual has a lot more info in it, but the Haynes is easier to read through

I have seen the helms on ebay on CD for like $4. Anyone have any experience with that?

You can find them online in PDF form, but I think it's a book every car owner should have...

Factory Service = Helms > Chiltons > Haynes

I have a Chilton's and a Hayne's for both of my cars, and usually find what I need between the two. I wish I had a Helms, even more so I wish Helm had a contract with Mazda.
