Default Carbon fiber hoods that don't fit my car??

Hey everyone, I'm new to this post so don't be too harsh on the responsesh:. Just bought a 94 Civic EX coupe a few weeks ago and plan on building up a NON-ricey Civic once I get my plans laid out. So the other day I went to the only import shop in this area (not much in South Dakota) and bought a Matrix carbon fiber hood for $350. The shop went to put it on and when I came back to pick the car up they told me the hood didn't fit. They showed me the hood and the back part (closest to the windshield) was cut wrong and didn't sit right on the hinges. Anybody heard of this before? Or does Matrix just suck. Anyway, I still think a CF hood would look nice on my car (its that teal green color), so if anyone that has one that fits right could let me know what kind to get that would be cool. Thanks everyone:thumbup:

it is my humble opinion that matrix does in fact suck

good c/f fiber products would be in my opinion: VIS, fiber image, spoon, etc...

VIS is the way to go. Decent price, it fits properly, and it's UV protected

Thanks for the responses. I think I'll try maybe a VIS hood. Does anyone know where i can get a good price on these? Also, how much of a pain are they to install yourelf?

My best guess is that the hood they were trying to fit on your car was meant for a sedan? :dunno:

I also have a VIS CF hood and I think is one of the better hoods out there for the price.

As to where to get one, you could try www.groupbuycenter.com There is also a member (Buddified Civic) that sells them. Check the for sale forum as well...

Fiber images is really good. I saw a video of someone jumping on top of a fiber images hood, and it didn't break or anything.
