Sorry everyone.. :( ... me again..
Hi.. this will be long so please bear with me
(again
)
I know ive been a pain in the ass here posting new threads almost every hour
im really sorry believe me.. its just that my swap will be happening within a few months and im really trying to maximize my learning experience throughout this time..
i know ive posted many setups and ive been really fickle saying that first ill do this and then that.. but i assure u all it is far from it..
when i first started considering my project i thought h22.. type r turbo.. and a whole bunch of other bs that ive realized wont work.. ive learned alot here at HAN for the time ive been here.. and i appreciate all the help ive gotten..
ive tried to narrow down my options on the swap but for some reason the stupid b20 with its torque is always in the back of my mind
h: ...
my dad has been telling me that he wants the swap soon.. as soon as i get some education and experience working on cars in my auto shop class.. he wants me to do the swap
yeah im lucky i think my dad is paying for the swap in whole.. :fawk:
and maybe some suspension and brake mods too
anyways he for some reason doesnt want to go FI .. well he doesnt want to pay for any of it.. but im lucky enough for what hes doing and im grateful.. so if i do choose FI as my route.. im gonna save up some money and most likely go for a max rev kit (ive heard nothing but good things)
question about them tho..
i see this on the site..
the turbo they use is:
Garrett T3-T04E 57trim stage 3 Turbo (good for 400+hp)
but u can upgrade this to a Garrett T3-T04E 60-1
or a Garrett T3-T04E 60 Trim...
can someone please explain which turbo is best? i know best is difficult to say.. umm lets say which would work better? i know spooling times and such are different i would like one that doesnt take a year to spool but it doesnt have to be lightning fast.. also does a equal length turbo manifold REALLY help spool it faster? :naughty:
hahahah.. dude where's my car is playing its quite funny.. whoa sorry i got off track there
now ive always thought gs-r turbo was gonna be my future setup but im seriously (i know i know) considering either an ls turbo setup (vtec head or no?) or a b20 turbo setup (vtec or no?)
the reason being is the gs-r will run more money and instead that money can be put towards a turbo kit for one of the other setups.. plus i hear that those are better for FI than a gs-r (true?)
btw.. this is all going into my 98 hatch incase thats an issue..
n/a engine ... mmmm i dont know.. because i want to do some drag racing
but i dont want to get slaughtered by v8's.. i would actually love to kill alot of them... :fawk:
if u have read this far props .. i really appreciate it .. please any info would be helpful so tap that post button ... ... ... ... ... please ?:happysad:
b20 turbo (vtec?)
ls turbo (vtec?)
gs-r turbo
n/a any b-motor (can it run mid 12s to low 13s for same price as other setups)?

would i have to sleeve the block on that?... so.. bore it out to 84mm.. stock its .. ummm (gets honda tuning mag) 81mm.. and stroke of 89mm u recommend stroking the engine?
what are the c/r of the ls? .. sry.. ill just check the sites..

a lot of all motor guys bore out to 84.5 all the time. then again i dont think their cars are daily driven.
going any higher than 84.5, i would think, would make the cylinder walls very thin and not safe for pushing boost. darton claims their sleeves can handle up to 47 psi. now i dont think you'll ever boost that high, but its nice to know you could.

oh.. i dont want to warp the cylinder walls or anything and this car will be a daily driver.. so how much is it safe to bore?
also is it possible to get a LSD tranny for this motor?
i realize it doesnt come stock but i mean can i buy a type r tranny with LSD (or any other.. recommendations?) and use it with that motor because i would like all the handles i can get
