Default Final stages of 99 JDM B18C buy :)

Hey guys, gezz its been a good month or so since I've even posted. It's good to be back.

Just wondering if there is anything else that you guys can think of that I might need or have trouble with concerning my swap

99-00 JDM B18C

into

98 civic ex coupe

This is what I will be recieving

B18C engine
LSD tranny
p72 ecu with proper wiring harness and connectors
shift linkage

blah blah>>>you guys I'm sure know the basic swap list

Just wondering if anyone ie SLCAKER ran into any rare troubles with this swap??

Thanks in advance boys n girls

You will need to pick up some mounts. I am currently doing my b18cr into my dx swap. Here's a list of stuff you will need.
99-00 Si ac bracket
99-00 si timing belt side mount
99-00 si rear mount (i think its the t bracket)
throttle cable (i hear you modify your stock one to fit but i dont know how)

Since you have an ex you an use your wiring harness.

I am probably leaving stuff off, but oh well.

Thanks homy...good luck on your swap!! She will be sweet!

Ya with regard to the mounts I think I have that in order as well. However the guy said that he would make the necessary mounts. Can this actually be done. I trust the guy fairly well and its his rep and lively hood on the line if he screws me but I've never heard of anyone making the mounts (meaning making new mounts by peicing other mounts together) Does this not seem king of weird to you guys

your exhaust might not match up on the bottom. two scenarios:

1.) the flange doesn't match up.

2.) the exhaust is too short.

**you'll also be using your EX upper transmission bracket, so don't mess it up or throw it away.

** learn how to switch around the pins on the ECU plugs.

** get a punch kit to take out the shift linkage pin.

** buy 3 large drain pans.. one for oil, transmission oil, and coolant.

** have lots of fun and be patient...

ohh, btw, it's not necessary for someone to make you a mount.. get factory stuff. it's the sure way that nothing will go bad..

one other thing, you might want to invest in a motor mount insert kit from Energy Suspension or who ever. it's easy to put them in while the engine is out and a nightmare if the engine is in. it only costs $30 US.

It will match up... but the bolts will be off. You can get it to work with a little muscle. The bolts will be a little crooked, but its fits tightly.

Hahah...thanks slacker Just the man I wanted to hear from. The motor is coming from Montreal. I do trust the guy thats getting/installing my engine but he wont tell me exactly where he gets it. I !@#$%^& hope to hell its not stolen or anything but as I say this is his lively hood so I don't think he would pull shit like that. I know for sure that its not OSAKA though...ha!!

Cool thanks guys that was going to be another question of mine. I didn't know just how exactly the exaust mounted up with the B pipe. However isn't the cat on the B18 a little longer thus compinsating for the diff?? Slacker what do you mean when you say "the bolts will be off"?? Do you mean off center?? If so how hard is it to manipulate? Is this how you did things in your civy?

I was thinking about getting an ES insert kit. Is it worth it?? What are the benifits? What did you guys do?

Holy **** I sound like a little kid asking too many questions at once....hehe...sorry guys

Hey Super Laubo thanks for the info dude. Good advice guys...keep it comin.haha

Nope doesn't make a difference. Please verify the motor is a 99-00. Those ****ers up there in Canada(cough where I got my motor from cough) lie and say that shit. Then they send you a ****in god damn 96. Trust me!! I can't stress that enough... anyhow.. your cat will mount to the header but... the B pipe is like and inch or two longer so you exhasut will stick out a tiny bit further(doesn't look bad at all) and the bolts will kinda go in throught the holes at an angle. AS you tighten them they will straighten up, but you will still notice they are crooked when its all tight. But you shouldn't have any exhaust leaks.
