Default Some information wanted

Hi,
as this is my first post on this forum I should introduce myself.

My name is Neven, I live in Windsor, Ontario, and as you can see from my signature, I am a Neon owner, and I just bought a 1992 Civic DX from my brother as a winter car.

The car needs some TLC to get back in shape and I plan on giving it to it in next 2 months. Car has 212,000km and runs like a charm. Only few issues I have with it is a standard with most hondas from that yearspan. I have to replace both CV joints, and maybe complete half-shafts. I would like to know who is a good vendor of parts you guys recomend, to get the parts needed for this repair. I would preffer someone in Canada but Michigan and even rest of the US is just fine with me, because I have a US shipping address as well.

So basically, give me some URL's where you would look to get some replacement parts for your civic, new and used.

Thank you

Neven

Welcome aboard I'm sorry you own a neon but there is still hope for you. I suggest just buying new axle assemblies all together with inner and outer boots already installed. less pain in the ass. I have always gotten my axles form Autozoen and have never had a problem so.....

I'm pretty happy with car I'm driving and performance. I wish the aftermarket was as large as it is for a civic. Presently I'm anxiously anticipating a turbo kit that is coming out of Hahn Racecraft, for a magnum engine (R/T, ACR).

As far as the axles, do you by any chance have a part # I should be looking at? I am downloading the repair manual as we speak, and I'm sure any "special tools" are listed in there but, are there any special tools required, (i.e. Puller)

Thanks
Neven

WELCOME :wavey:

if the axles on the civic are still original, i'd just buy some from Kragen, Pep Boys, Autozone or any local parts store. you can usually pick up a set for about 150 with a life time warantee.

good luck, and have fun with the civic..

maybe we can convert you too!!! :rick:

also, try checking out www.hondaautomotiveparts.com for factory parts. this will give you some lead way for pricing. keep in mind that this site lists all factory parts far chaper than dealerships.

Ok, thank you for the info. I will be starting this project soon and any info is appreciated.

As far as the manuals. I will post a link tomorrow as soon as my download finishes. It is slower than ass but this link has been active for over a year now. So as soon as I finish downloading, I could either upload it to you or I'll just leave you doodz the links

These manuals avaliable are:

1g Crx 84-87
2g Crx 88-91

88-91 civic
92-95 civic

Again, server is slow so some download manager will be very usefull.
Link coming tomorrow.
