d-series auto trannies are a dime a dozen, I'd rather have a backup than to throw down cash modifying one beyond a converter (which you need to get decent 60' times anyway). Alt. if you get a cooler, you could probably re-use it on your next tranny....

Is that an Oxymoron?

Well I have my D16Y8 Automatic. I don't have any funds to buy a manual or a swap so this is what I have to work with. Besides the usual I/H/E, what else can I do? I saw in a recent article that Edelbrook has a boost set up delivering 6-7 psi. Do you think that would work with an auto? Would the engine hold up? Any other engine mods I could do?

Thanks for the advice!
