There was talk on honda-tech of Moroso making a custom manual steering rack with quicker ratio.


Anyone have any more information regarding this????

Sounds like a good rack a couple of my friends are interested in picking them up. Isnt only about $300 from quaife?

 

id ****in love to have a closer ratio steering rack...UNF!

 

Harder to turn it, though. You'll hate it if your tires are wider than stock, or if you drive the car on the street.

 

I've got P/S.

Hopefully they'd have a PS rack too.

 

Got a reply back from Quaife. They said it's already in development, they expect to release it end of this year, early next year.

It'll require you to rebuild your stock manual steering rack with the new pieces. I e-mailed them asking for a price point.

We'll see what happens.

 

u doing some massive racing or something?? wouldn't closer gearing make your wheel jerk at any bump in the road during daily driving? it'd be like driving with twice the amount of power steering. :dunno:

 

i think the new ratio is going to be similar to power steering rack.

i'm used to driving my power steering honda. when i put the manual rack in the turning in feel really changed. if we got something similar to the power steering it'd help. i could just be i don't drive my hatch that much anymore, and i'm just not used to it yet.

I know i gotta go get another manual rack, cause i'm def. gonna rebuild it with the quaife piece.

 

ohh i see... would there be any difference/benefits in driving experience with a closer manual steering versus a power steering column besides less load due to the belt ?

btw, i thought your hatch was your daily driver? also, how's the side molding holding up? :thumbup:
