it'd be like driving with twice the amount of power steering. :dunno:

short steering ratio = Anyone who is too pussy to crank the wheel doesn't care enough about driving anyway. The stock manual rack is shit 19:1 . I hope the quaife ends up with something like a 14:1 or 15:1. I'd definitely get it.
power steering makes the civic feels lose. can't "feel" the road as well.
plus once you're moving like 10 mph it's cake to turn...
my friend says the power steering rack on the mr2 he has is:
electrical power steering (motor in the back)
variable depending on how much force you need to turn the wheel
and after 60 mph it doesn't come into play so you don't lose the road "feel"
he knows about cars so I take his word for it, but sounds too good to be true, i guess i'm just used to civic without any extra's

I have a 2600lb clutch pressure plate for my GSX. It takes 130lbs of force to press my clutch pedal to the floor. Everyone bitches about it but me because it's "too stiff", but you'll never hear me complain.
I don't think a hatch needs power steering, and I'm not a small guy. But if the tires are wider than stock, and it's used as a daily driver, even 15:1 would be uncomfortable. I'd bitch about my manual steering beeing tighter in a daily-driver, but not on a race car.

i'm used to driving my power steering honda. when i put the manual rack in the turning in feel really changed. if we got something similar to the power steering it'd help. i could just be i don't drive my hatch that much anymore, and i'm just not used to it yet.

I know i gotta go get another manual rack, cause i'm def. gonna rebuild it with the quaife piece.

So you had a closer ratio rack, and instead of removing the P/S element and making it a manual close ratio rack, you switched it for a non-P/S rack with much longer ratio's and obviously that sucks. Now you want to pay probably $300+ for a aftermarket kit that will make your non-P/S rack more like the old P/S rack you used to have if you had just removed all the PS stuff.

closing up the ps rack was just too ghetto...
and yes andy did tell me the manual rack sucked and to keep the ps rack.
switching racks for weight saving was also another reason why i wouldn't listen...
