Well, an aftermarket stage one cam could help. Advance your timing a smidgin, and then play with your cam a little bit. That might help, but if you are new to this, take it to a performance shop and see what they say.

Try a better intake manifold, bored throttle body, internal work like a aftermarket cam, forged pistons..etc..etc..Vtec controller, spark plugs, fuel rail, fuel pump, cam gear, crankshaft pullies, headers, Aftermarket ECU's , short shifter..staged clutch...etc..etc..the list goes on for after market parts.... if you don't to spend a lump some just improve on your current engine...there are alot of people who didn't do a swap or run a turbo with decent 1/4 times... but still it's all about how much you want to spend...$$$ IMO it's about who can write the bigger check and how to spend it.

no way, if you're a noob and u go to a performance shop they'll advertise all this BS to u so you'll buy their stuff. not a good idea, unless u kno they're honest people

also, putting an intake/header/exhaust/other bolt-ons on a car is a good power adder, just not for our cars. for high compression built motors, these things will add more power than 5whp. also, for powerful cars like supras and WRX's, there's a lot of bottled up power. bolt ons actually add a lot of power for these cars. ricers just saw this and started doing it to their civics.

I would get a cam and some high compression pistons (someone said to get forged, but that's really expensive and you really don't need them for a street car) and a bigger throttle body/intake manifold. I think you can use ZC pistons and a Y8 IM with random B-series throttle body, but I may have been mis-informed. That and normal bolt-ons will be way better than stock. Of those items, I think the cam will cost the most.

Yea tru...he already has a EX manifold so I don't think a Y8 would improve too much, the only difference is year right?

The B-series throttle body should work...
Yea anything is better than stock...

Yeah he has an EX but i think the Y8 allows more air than the rest of the D series IMs. Just figured it would still be cheap and just a bit better than stock.
