Default d16z6 with JR supercharger

hey,I'm thinking about building my d16z6 vtec motor with forged pistons and rods,port/polished head. before installing a jackso racing supercharger. running only the 6psi,My stock internals would be fine but would like to upgrade to be on the safe side and it will also lower the compression. has anyone else done this??

I would highly suggest a turbo instead.

All I hear about those are they are not that great. And people have trouble breaking into the 14's. Plus not as efficent. These little honda motors dont like spinning another pulley.

damn, you guys and your turbos. Go Jackson dude, you won't be disappointed. If you lived closer I'd let you take it for a spin.

hey jon jon,I believe we talked before about your JR charger. Are you running stock internals and stock fuel system?? do you think lowering the compression is going to defeat the JR's purpose??because it is designed for a stock motor.

I m not saying that they dont make no power. I have researched and that is why I think that the turbo is better. I have a couple of friends with stangs totally dif car than a civ. But one has a vortec and one has a turbo and that seems like the way to go the are both fast on stock internals. I know that cars are huff'en that make good power. It just seems like turbos are cheaper and more reliable

turbo needs alot more fine tuning to get it working to its best. JR supercharger only winds up when you stomp on it,and the fuel pressure regualtor that they supply takes care of the extra fuel when needed. upgrade, you ignition system, maybe your internals(which you have to do if running turbo) if you have the extra loot. And your set. I like the JR charger because its designed for specific motors. where as turbo, they might make a kit for your vehicle but,it had to be fine tuned to your engine. If you don't have excellent mechanical skills or a dyno machine in your back yard, its kind off a pain in the ass.

oh yeah,I work 8-5,go to the gym 6-8,go out all the time, and have a girlfriend. I'll tell you what, weekends come around I'd rather not be sitting in my garage ****ing with my cars motor.
