Default what generation is my car?

ok well im new to this whole. "HIGH PERFORMANCE" scene and modding ur car and stuff but im REAlly INTO it and i always hear ppl talkin about the generation of ur car.
how do u tell?
i have a 94 dx coupe.. what generation is mine?
thanks to anyone that replies.
this has really been buggin me

92-95=5th gen
96-00=6th gen
01-present=7th gen

no formula...just when they change the body style

4th gen is 88-91
3rd gen is 84-87
2nd gen is 80-83
1st gen is 73-79
Prior to the 1st generation Civic was the 600 series. 69*-72

*depending on where you lived, this car may not have appeared until late 1970/early 1971

Something that I never really understood until I started reading here is what EG, EK etc. means...
Those are actually the only two that I know, but I'll share. EG is 5th gen and EK is 6th gen. EG6 is 5th gen type R and EK9 is 6th gen type R.
