Default car won't start??????

So I park my 93 hb for about a week and drive my other car around and when I try to start it up, nothing. Ok no problem I'll just jump it cause the battery is dead. Well nothing, so I go get a new battery and try it again. This time the car will crank but wont turn over. I was thinking fule pump but i can smell gas. I was going to check for codes but it isnt throwing any. I'm thinking it wont throw any if the car doesnt start, but im not sure.
Can I still plug it up to a diagnostics tester to see if something is wrong.

HELP

If you are lacking spark, get a manual and volt meter and check your ignitor and coil, notoroius parts to fail on civics I've noticed.

if its not the fuel pump, I'd bet its the fuel relay. Just a relay that plugs in under the dash. On older cars, it just burns out.

I've owned my Civic for just a few months and it has broken down on me twice already. Both times it has been the coil. Last time, I just checked if I was getting spark then changed the coil. The car fired up and I was on my way. Atleast it only takes about 5 mins to change one.
