actually it was hand polished aluminum, to emphasize the fact that the new xj's have alum. chassis

 

looks like you tried to make it look like a DOHC. :down:

actually it was too hard to polish around the letters, so i decided to paint where the letters were. then tried to blend the paint into the polished part, but if you've ever tried to wet sand spraypaint, you know it does'nt give the best results. so i ended up w/ what you've seen.
ABSOLUTELY did not try to make it look like a dohc..... i'm proud of the mini-me in my 90' DX rex

i'll go with the crusty/dirty engine bay look, it covers up the little snail i have hiding under my "stock header"
