Yeap, the dreaded "C" word is a beesh. Why can't they all have 6-bolt motors? I have a 7-bolt with 122k miles and ZERO play in the crank so it doesn't happen to all of them, but some people have had really bad luck with them. The best way to fix it is to use a 90-92.5 6-bolt short block when you're building up a race motor, but like me, you may never have to do that at all. The transmissions are more likely to blow than the crank thrust bearings, and they cost more to fix than the "C"-word (I dare not speak it). I think it's worth it either way for what those cars can do. How'd you like the GSX? Sick fast? Did you get a chance to wring it out? ...drop the clutch at 5k RPM's? That's what sold me... hehe.
