i have a '98 civic ex (d16y8) with an act stage 2 clutch. second gear is acting up, i think my syncros are bad and i'm looking for a tranny to throw in there before i sell the car.

a buddy offered to buy a D16z6 motor with tranny and sell me the tranny if i wanted.

will this tranny bolt up to my d16y8? isnt that a cable to my hydralic?

how is the gearing? i'm supercharged and would like to have a bit longer 1st and 2nd gear to utilize my low end, is the gearing the same? i dont care to much, because i'm selling the car anyways, but just curious.

 

the d16z6 tran will bolt up.

they are both hydro trans. the d16y8 has a bit longer gears than the d16z6. if you want longer gears get a d16y7 trans (96-00 civic cx, dx, or lx).
