it's just a way to simplify all your vacuum lines. i have about 6 't's in the vacuum line right now, and a manifold just takes the place of all those 't's. it's a small mod, but i haven't been able to come across one yet.

How much boost can a stock 99-00 si handle with a turbo setup? I was looking at the vortech supercharger w/aftercooler, and that says 8-9 psi, would this be a similar psi for turbos?

i've seen people run as high as 12psi daily driven on gs-r engines, which are very similar. this is safe as long as you have it well tuned by someone that knows how to tune and on a dyno w/ a wideband o2 sensor, and if you dont hit max boost all day long on these hot days. i've seen as high as low 300whp out of 10psi on a stock block, just tuned very well with an upgraded fuel system.

and it's great to have a blow off valve with your turbo, cuz when people hear that, they get scared.

So on the average a complete turbo setup is cheaper than supercharging?

Is turbo lag even a big deal? It seems like a turbo would kick in around 3K, which doesn't take more than a second to get there anyway. Is 3K about when most turbos spool up?
