Default help with wheel setup ASAP!

Ok,

I have done extensive searching on this topic, but no clear answer.

I got some cheap wheels on a closeout, and they didnt come with hubcentric rings. they are generic, so i wouldnt know who to contact.

Has anyone gotten hubcentric rings from wheel/tire places? have any ideas where to look? What measurements do i need to take to figure out what size i need?

ALso, i have to make an 800 mile trip in the next 2 days, will running wheels without hubcentric rings be a problem!

please, someone help me as i need to get this taken care of tonight!!

I don't know where you can find them, but until you do, I wouldn't do any extensive driving, just to be safe (going back to school? ). People drive without hubcentric rings pretty often, but it places a lot of load on your wheel studs, and can cause them to break. What kinda wheels did you get? maybe you should call the manufacturer.

Sometimes wheel or performance shops have extra ones sitting around that may fit. YOu have to measure the inside hub and find one that fits.

My Kosei hub centric rings melted from a track day and found out a Konig hub centric ring fit perfectly.

yeah, i dont really know the brand, and yes i am heading back to school tomorrow. i dont really have a choice, looks like im going 800 miles on em.

how do you not know what brand they are??? And what happened to your stock wheels (or whatever was on there before-hand)?!?! Why don't you just drive out to Mines( :ghey: ) and put your new wheels in the trunk till you get there?

umm, mainly because there will be no room in my trunk, i am moving back out to CO so i have to bring all my shiat. they are pacers, i found that out. and theres no way i am leaving my brand new wheels and tires, newly balanced and ready to go, in my parents garage till next year. no way.

As long as i wont die, and huge damage wont come to my car, then i dont care. whats the worst that will happen? broken lug studs? easily replaced.

oh and boulder isnt?

The worse that could happen is your tires would wear wear and your car might not track straight which would wear your tires quicker. You could get wobbling on the highway which could work the lugs loose then you would be in BIG trouble.

Again stop by a wheel or performance shop and see if they have extra hub centric rings. They are only like $5 instead of $2000+ to fix your car if the above happens.

I think you'll be fine for your drive back. Many people (I believe most people) knowingly or unknowingly run aftermarket rims without hubcentric rings. Just make sure you torque your lugnuts on correctly and evenly. This'll sound weird but also try to make sure that the wheel is seated as centered as possible.

That being said, using the rings is the best thing to do. I haven't picked any up myself even though I've been meaning to for years now...but I drive on my steel wheels most of the time these days.

To measure them, you'll need to measure the inner diameter (this can probably be found on the internet since it'll be common for most civics and integras) and the outer diameter. The inner diameter will be the lip on the hub. The outer will be the diameter of the space behind your aftermarket wheels.

I believe Golden Apple distributes rings so they may be just one source if you can find a distributor. As CivicSiRacer has stated though, there may be differences in quality between different brands.

Once again, I think you'll be fine for your 800 mile drive. I've driven further without hubcentric wheels on. If you're leaving for school tomorrow, you've got other things to worry about and there's no way you'll get them by tonight. Just order them or buy them when you get there.

Well you gotta do what you gotta do... torque them on there nice and tight, and check it when you stop for gas.
