Default New Brakes

Hey guys, I just put some power slot brakes and hawks shoes on my car. Does anyone have any idea how long these little bitches are supposed to squeek after install? Any had/having a similar prob?

you really should put brake lubricant on them or they'll dust like hell on your rims. It also cuts down on the squeeling

A few hundred miles is what it took on my integra. Did you use that anti-squeal stuff on the back and sides of the pads? You can also buy some brake rotor cleaner and just spray everything down. I was getting pissed when mine kept squeaking, but after a while the squeaking went away.

Did you buy semi ceramic brake pads? Also, asbestos is no longer used in brakes, so this causes some more squeaking too.

mine didn't squeek at all. new crossed rotors, new stainless braided brake lines, mu pads...

It's called anti-squeal compound. Did you bed in the pads correctly?
