I am thinking about buying a wrecked civic 95. The lady wants 500 bucks for the car. engine runs great with 40,000 miles and auto trans.

Is it worth that much, could I sell the engine and trans for more than 500 bucks?

Find out if the civic is an si, ex, dx,cx, or vx. The only motor from the 92-95 civics that is worth anything is the D16Z6 SOHC VTEC. This motor only comes in the ex and si models. You can sell this motor in good condition and low mileage for $600-$700. You could also part the motor out for someone who is doing a mini-me swap. (sohc vtec head on a sohc non vtec block) There are some all motor racers getting down into the 10's with a built D16Z6.

did you actually drive the car or the lady just said it runs great? Since it's wrecked (dunno how bad that exactly means) does the car move now?

 

It fliped, so the roof is caved in and thats it....

runs, but it is automatic, she thinks it is an EX, but not sure, I am waiting for pictures from her..

it flipped........that might be a lil pricey to fix unless you make it a chop top civic like tanabe.:thumbup:

 

Man, I keep seeing ridiculous prices for Z6's quoted on this board. I got mine inperfect condition with approx 70k miles on it for $300. Granted that's engine only, so maybe the prices I'm seeing are for engine and tranny.

 

If it only has 40K on it i'll give you $500 for the engine. Where are you located?
