shock/strut installation in San Jose, CA?
Hi,
I'm very new to this forum, but I've owned my (stock) '95 Civic
DX Hatchback from day one.
I'm looking to replace the current shocks/struts with a set of
KYBs (non-adjustable), but I don't intend to install them myself.
Can someone recommend a shop in the San Jose, Santa Clara,
or Milpitas areas that can do this installation for me?
Thanks,
Roger

Hi, welcome to Honda-Acura.net.
Do you have any desire to wrench on it yourself? If so, I'd be willing to help you out.
If you just don't want to work on it, there's Tech3 in San Jose:
http://www.funaki.com/Tech3/about.html
I've never been there but I've heard of people who've gone to them in the past.
Is your car lowered? Or are you still using stock springs and you're just looking to replace your shocks?
I'm not sure if this is an option for you, but E30dood on this site and I might be willing to do the job for less than the cost of a shop if you're interested.

Thanks for the pointer to Tech3, agent87, and the offer to do the job - I'll consider that and get back to you.
The desire is there, but I simply have very little free time these days - I had the luxury of free weekends, and access to the proper tools, when I tackled this job the first time (I have 193k+ miles on the car, and installed Tokico non-adjustables over 4yrs and ago)

No problem milanored95. If you decide to have us work on your car instead just let me know.
I know where you're coming from with not having the time or the tools. Most people I know just don't have the time and are better off paying others to do it for them so they can dedicate the time and/or tool money to something else.
Oh, and props for keeping your car since new for 193k+ miles. That's very impressive IMO!

Just a quick (final) update on this - finally got this taken care of this past Friday at Tech3. Quite satisfied with their pricing and their work - I was in and out of there in about an hour and a half!
Thanks again for the responses and the offers to help do the work!
