Civic aftermarket H/U install...
I have a '99 Civic EX and I'm planning on replacing the OEM headunit with an aftermarket headunit. I was told that if I replace the OEM headunit with an aftermarket headunit, I'll lose the keyless entry function. Is this true? I thought that only occured on 96-98 Civics.
im not sure which hondas they were in, but you dont have to keep the oem deck. you just need to get an adapter / harness that keeps the keyless entry together.
im not exactly sure where to get this harness, but i know it exist.

*off topic, that new sig looks awesome will
My buddy did this a while ago and he got a specific wiring harness for an aftermarket radio in that car so that he could keep all of the security features. I'll ask him to see what he did. I'd be pissed if I had to keep my stupid OEM radio behind my dash :eh:

I spoke to a guy over at Crutchfield last night and he told me that the receiver harness that they sell for the 99-00 Civic won't interfere with the keyless entry system so I went ahead and bought the harness from them. Technically the harness is free cause I had a $25 credit from them which I was totally unaware of at the time
