Well, a good driver and a not-so-good driver in the LS would do it. Stock for stock, and the drivers being of the same caliber, the LS would definitely take the EX.

Heheh...

my civic's 1/4 mile time... 17.95@75 with the wrong injectors... $2000
2001 Celica GT-S 1/4 mile time... 17.35@79 and struggling... $22,000

Boy was that a fun day. Can't wait to add some fuel to the mix. I'm so badly wanting to say it was driver's error on the celica side that made him so repeatedly slow, but who knows. Too much time spent shifting a 6-speed maybe? I dunno. Maybe those things are turds. I barely touched my third gear before exiting the traps.

Driver skill makes all the difference in the world. Granny shifts, bogging, and not utilizing enough of your gears will seriously work against your chances of winning. It wouldn't take a lot to mod a half second into your EX. Run on your steelies if he has wheels, and you'll win with consistent driving.

i dunno man.. times are times.. BUT i really don't think there is that much differance between the two.. but even with your demo of times the ex COULD run a 16.7 and the ls COULD run a 16.0 and that would be a HUGE differance.. but it could go the other way creating 3 tenths differance which is EXTREMELY close.. not even enough to matter.. i think they are more like that at the extreme end.. like almost the same to maybe 4 tenths off
