i have a 1998 honda civic ex. I took my factory exhaust manifold off and installed a header. I couldnt get the factory sensor out because I stripped the bolt. So I went to Autozone and bought a Bosch OEM type sensor. When I finally plugged it up and started my car it thew a check engine light. The code is 01, o2 sensor open or short in o2 sensor circuit, bad o2 sensor. I took the sensor back and got the same exact one, plugged it back up and it threw the same code. Keep in mind I reset my ECU by unplugging the battery for 10 minutes each time. Now I have a factory o2 sensor coming to me from a 1998 honda civic EX. Its the same sensor that was originally on my car. Did anyone else have this problem, if so how did you fix it? I was told putting a header on my car shouldnt make my sensor thwo any codes. Am I restetting my ECU properly? Please HELP!!!!!
did the Bosch one have a plug on it? That tends to be the problem. Check the connections, and solder them instead of the lame connectors. Normally works dandy.
just get a metrich set so you can use your stock O2 sensor. the bosch ones always got problems cause i think they're wideband or something. i dunno exactly.

Neither did mine! And then I saw that crack in the middle my exhaust manifold!! That is why I am thinking about upgrading to a Chikara header -- unless I can find a used stock part (for a 95 Civic EX) really cheap.
