taking off side skirts?

Default taking off side skirts?

i was going to take off my oem sideskirts but noticed the are not unscrewing they turn but do not come out. Is there anyone who knows how to get your oem sideskirt off on a civic 96-00.?

yeah I had the same problem. You keep turning and nothing happens. It is a two part system. It is a plastic screw and molly bolt. Try holding down the ring of the molly bolt while you turn the screw. After you do that, take off the two screws in each wheel well, then slide the entire assembly towards the front of the car. When I did mine, I ended up stripping some of the plastic screws. I got mad so I just ripped them out!
So now just have the two screws in the wheel well and two plastic screws beneath, but it seems to be holding just fine. So why are you taking off the skirts? Painting?

Thanks green civic. Yes i am painting them i got a gift card from my grandmother for autozone for 50 bucks. I either choose to burn the card or to use it haha. But i went there today and picked up primer. frost white paint and clear coat all dupli color products. I stripped the rear most bolt trying to undo it i hope i can get them off now . thanks for your help

i just tryed holding the other pieces besides the screw, it still didnt come out. what i see is a screw then a plastic type ring around that followed by another bigger ring maybe a gasket or something.

the plastic screws are design to break away like that, you basically gotta buy 6 new ones and just pop out the old ones.
