Wheel effect on speedometer?

Default Wheel effect on speedometer?

If I upgrad my wheels to 18's on my stock car will it through the speedo off? How much? Who can reset it?

yes, it'll throw it off a little but i probably wouldn't be worried about it.

youll need to get 205/35 series tires(way expensive) to keep it close(that is if youre talking about a civic, and if you are, dont get 18s

yea 18's are way to big for a civic, they would throw ur speedo off also. go 16's my friend

for my friends celica.. i have 17's on the civic.. but she doesn't want to lower her celica so we are going w/ 18's

I posted the technical stuff about this a while back. I dug it up... it's here...

This will allow you to calculate how far off it is if you do a little bit of math. The formulas are in that thread. That may help you decide whether or not it's worth it.

The car will still look like it's going off road, especially with 18's.

No, he's right... without the right suspension mods, that celica would look all jacked up. My girlfriend put 16's on her Ford Probe SE, and it's all jacked up. It came with 14's. It looks bad. Probably handles like crap, too, but she drives it like a grandma so she wouldn't know it. She still needs to lower it.

eh.. i agree 100% that it needs to be lowered.. but we live out in the country so to speak and she refuses to get it lowered cause it scrapes bad enough as it is... I lowered my civic and don't have any problems.. but i can't convince her.
