I had a shop check it out when I got it and they said it was all good, but I soon found out that the 3rd gear syncro was shot, 2nd makes weird noises at low RPMs and the diff ticks when I turn right. It also sounds like there's a big rock rolling around in there when I shift from 2nd to neutral and just coast... :dunno:

It's f'd. I got a '96 GSR tranny totally rebuilt and checked out for $750 shipped. Plus, the guy's going to give me $200 back on my core.

$550 for a GSR tranny isn't bad.

 

thats cool...im going to sell the tranny in my garage, and when i drop my Si one, ill sell it also, for the housing, or i might rebuild it with an LSD and such.

 

I looked into the OEM LSD, but it's said to only be able to handle about 250 hp.

Also, thought you'd like to know that Apexi isn't making the turbo kit for the EGs anymore - they're discontinued.

Now, yours is worth more. :thumbup:
