My best friend just came by today with his brand new Prelude. I took her for a spin and all i can say is wow. It's just as smooth and linear in it's power delivery as my maxima's. Not the Honda feel I'm used too. Even my Cousin's RSX does'nt deliver power the way this car does. He went out looking for a new truck and his wife (if you can believe it) talked him into the prelude since he already has a Frontier. It's Silver with leather interior, manual trans. i had never driven an H22 powered Prelude before and it has changed me forever. I even go out on a limb and say it felt stronger than the WRX I test drove. It's as fast as my SE easy. I was looking for like a 96' Prelude before but i may nut up and just buy a 2001 or so. I would keep my coupe but the CRX and my GXE would have to go. But is'nt there gonna be a new gen soon? Any pics yet or specs. sorry but i just got done driving it and I'm still just overly impressed. I have visions of a JRSC or boosted Prelude dancing in my head.

Yeah, I read an old MR article once where a Prelude VTEC ran like a 14.7 quarter bone stock. At the time the article was posted it was in response to a Type-R owner talking shit about how his Type-R was the fastest Honda from the factory besides the NSX. I found a prestine 96' Prelude VTEC for $6,900.00 a while back and nearly bought it but I passed and have regretted (sic) ever since.
My boy runs a 98' Prelude.. Fully Built everything turbocharged. The thing's like 2.4L DOHC VTEC (it was bored larger) Turbo, and it's SO sick. Preludes are nice ass cars. I have to say I always wanted one over my civic at first. If you do them right, they can be beast ass, and real slick lookin too. Right now I'm enjoying whoopin up on preludes in my B18C1'd civic, but I'd say go for it. Keep the civics though. They are great cars. Good luck to you!

Oh, I have had my coupe for close to ten years this may and as far as I'm concerned I'll never get rid of it. I have too much invested in it to make any money off it and hopefully if I can keep it this way for another eight years my son can drive it if he wants. The CRX however and the GXE don't carry nearly as much sentimental value.
i find the prelude to be the worst car of the bunch. feels like a heavy slug everytime i drive it.
my fascinations with honda's begin and stop with a hybrid civic.
ofcourse i'm a fan of the s2k and nsx.
other than those two. i'd say an eg civic hybrid is the best choice.
do some suspension work and you'll enjoy the civic a ton more than the prelude. it's all if've done for a while and my civic keeps my attention everytime i drive her.....
in the end your $$$ and your call
