Default vtech controller

A friend of mine just purchased a vtech controller for his Del Sol and it wont fit. Unfortunately he cant sell it back to the company because he ordered it from Hong Kong. Fortunately the vtech controller fits my car (2000 Civic SI) and he wants to sell it to me for 200$. Is this a good deal and if it is would it be worth spending that much. Ive heard they dont do much if you dont have any mods on your car such as a turbo or high flow exhaust.

not really. And when I say stock, that might as well include I/H/E.... they don't really do too much.

I personally have never really understood the point of a vtec controller. Maybe somebody can fill me in.

VTEC AFC- ability to control air/fuel mixture, and VTEC crossover point. When you have multiple mods, ie I/H/E cams and what not, it allows for fine tuning of your engine without purchasing a new ECU; it's a piggyback.
