Default Alarm installation??

Anyone???

How hard is it to install an OEM alarm? I just ordered one from www.handa-accessories.com for only $66. It does have instructions, but I have never done this kind of job before. What am I looking at for a finish time?

Laterz..

OEM alarms... just about as effective as putting a sticker on your window saying "this vehical's owner owns a gun, nothing in this car is worth your life" ever seen that sticker? I have. Was it scary, or deturant? no. same thing with an OEM alarm.

check out some real alarms, that have more features like ignition kills, and anti bypass wiring.

I'll copy this to audio/electrionics forum, be sure to check for it in there.

I agree fully that OEM alarms aren't that great, but the important thing to remember that an alarm is only as good as its install. The problem with OEM alarms is that they are all installed the same way. The advantage to aftermarket alarms is that they are usually installed in difficult to access locations. After market alarms also usually have many features that OEM alarms don't. But, hey, for $66, you can't really beat it.

Oh, and if you have to ask how difficult it is to install an alarm, you might be better off having someone do it for you. They can get a bit tricky.

Man,

I wish I had the $200 to get a real one. I was thinking about getting the Aladin one? I just need something for now. I will probably upgrade. I need this to lower my insurance.

How much does installation cost anyway?
