why not the stock harness? im using my stocker on my b16

:edit:

oops i just noticed you have an sir-1 engine. the stock eg civic harness wont plug into alot of things (ie distributor, altenator, god knows what else).

there is no OBD-0 USDM harness for the sir-1. i would use the stock EG harness and the plugs off the sir-1 harness that you have to wire.

i have an sir-1 motor in my eg, but EVERYthing has been changed to 0bd-1 spec plugs, so im using my entire stock harness + separtate vtec switch and oilpress wires.

alright i just found out that hasport makes a subharness for vtec, does this mean that i can use my stock harness if i get the sub harness?

remember i have the first gen b16a the harness that came with it is cut so i need to know what to do,

also do i need to convert the distributer?

i would buy a new obd1 dist. i have an extra one, really new. i thought i had a bad one, bought a new one, and still had the same prob (it was a harness prob.) the harness that came with my motor was junk (conerted teg harness).

so p/m me for the dist. ill give you a good price.

this is what i would do:
- use the stock civic harness.
- get a dist. (from me, ill give you a really good price)
- chop off the vtec plugs from the old harness and run them thru the firewall into the cabin to the ecu (what i did, and what most people do).
- if your stock harness doesnt plug into something on the b16, then you can probably take off the sensor on your old motor, and put it on the b16.
- the thermostat cover onthe b16a may be missing the fan thermoswitch. you can use your old thermoswitch, and buy a new housing (which is what i did).
- dont forget to upgrade your fuel pump too. gsr pump is fine (70lph?). i have a 255lph from BBK (over kill) with a bbk fpr and gauge
- cut off the alternator plug on the b16 harness and tap it into the stock one for the alt. my alt died, and i reaplaced it with a teggy alt, so i didnt need to rewire mine.
- you will need to extend the o2 sensor plug on the stock civic harness as the stock o2 is close to the front of the car, and the b16 one is on the header, closer to the cat
