I would be scared of a CF bumper (do they make them?) because if somebody taps you while they park, it could crack the whole thing. Other than that it sounds like a cool and different idea. Try it!

Well, some of the cheaper carbon stuff is about 95 percent glass, 5 percent carbon thread (my parents used to work with carbonfiber in prosthetics, so I sorta grew up with it ^_^) Thats why you need to figure out before you buy what percent thread they used when making it. Many of the cf items around are mostly glass, with a thin layer of carbon on top of that. The thing is, the entire substance of the item is glass, which isnt what your paying for if your looking for more show then go. Also, when they use the process that uses mostly glass, the weight difference is immense when compared to full carbon, the fiberglass/carbon mix is VERY VERY much heavier then full carbon Anyway, full carbon should be somewhat flexible if they didnt use a very hard epoxy when coating it. Carbon itself is ugly , but very light, the clear epoxy they put over it is what makes it look cool. Without the epoxy tho, carbon is generally very maleable to an extent Also, with a glass mixture like on a front bumper in the case of a crash or being bumped on it, it would shatter and break back into its thread form, real carbon doesnt react to point impact like that.

Anyway my 2 cents =D Thanks for the opinions btw guys Been a big help, I am for sure going to try it now, being unique in such a large group of people such as import enthusiasts is very rare, so im excited to jump on the chance

Geez, why don't you go off and get technical details to support your arguement next time....

oh wait, you did.

If i can't get you to not paint your car like that, they try something new, make is sleek, and get it done right. I could see this being totally screwy. I'd get the whole car at a minimum reclear coated too, if not the whole car repainted -- unified shine.
