this is an old topic....
however, it is not a totally worthess modification. some people use this vtec light so that they can keep their car in a certain power band. sure they can hear the vtec, but it is easier to just look when driving. i mean people could always just look at their gauge cluster tach when redlining, but lots get the shift light, just easier and takes less attention on readings and more on driving.

coolest setup ive seen was my friends gsr, he made his own shift light in the cluster set at 7800 and a vtec light right next to it, it looked pretty cool cause the lights would be like dancing and stuff.
