Hey I just got the one peice center console thing for my 95 civic. It says that i have to take apart my cig lighter and attatch it to the new one. Any one know how to do this? I don't want to take it off and break it. It doesn't really tell me real instructions for it..it just says to take the cig lighter off. Does anyone know?

 

i think the cig lighter just clicks in u will probably have to just unplug the wires for it but its got a plastic connector that comes apart and i beleive the cig lighter itself is just like clicked into place in the hole maybe, im not posotive, i can look at mine tomorrow when i put it back in my car

 

Well, the only one I have had apart (it actually fell apart, and I had to put it back together) was in a '92 Integra.

It was held in by a threaded ring on the back. Get at the back, and unscrew this ring. Pop the electrical connector and it should slide out.

it's kind of funky. i think i undid the splade connector where it gets it's power so that i could pull the lighter out of that gold "sheath" thing. otherwise, it would appear that you would have to cut the wire when you don't need to.

 

For the cig lighter i had to cut the wires and then splice them back together afterwards.
